The third annual MADCOS Sports Awards were held at Maricourt on the evening of 15th July 2015. The awards ceremony celebrates the wealth of sports that take place during the year between all the MADCOS schools, organised by the School Sports Co-ordinators in each Secondary School. Daniel Walsh, former pupil of St John Bosco and Maricourt and currently Basketball player for the Welsh Team, presented the prizes and gave a speech which inspired younger pupils to “get involved in sport” and “keep your options open”.

This year St John Bosco did remarkably well, taking trophies for Tag Rugby, Cricket, Football and Girls’ Football. Lydiate won the Netball competition, whilst Holy Rosary won the large schools Football and Cross Country. St George’s and ¬†St Gregory’s had strong team and individual runners in the Cross Country competitions. Each school nominated their Sports Personalities of the Year, each receiving a small trophy at the ceremony.

Many thanks to Miss Rachel Cousins for organising this year’s event!
